This ceremony is led by a Paqo de Q’ero, a high priest/shaman of the highland Andean community of the Q’eros.

Most days we wake at sunrise to greet the day with a Sun Salutation yoga practice. The retreat is designed to accommodate 10 participants and teamwork is encouraged as we design together, implement projects and most importantly, have fun and immerse ourselves in Peruvian culture. There is also time for rest, reflection and free time to explore the village of Urubamba and other excursion-site cities. Most evenings are reserved to either leisurely go into Urubamba village to dine and/or socialize around the fire.

LODGING

Lodging is included in the cost and is provided for all 5 nights in comfortable shared accommodations at 2 - 3 star locales. If you prefer a private room or would like to coordinate sleeping/bed arrangements with a traveling partner, please indicate on the registration form in order to make necessary arrangements and coordinate any additional fees that may incur.

While in our home-base-hub of Urubamba, we will be staying at family-owned Proyecto Ecologico Rijch’ariy with peaceful gardens, a fire pit, communal learning spaces and a shared kitchen.

MEALS

4 breakfasts, 5 lunches are included in the cost. Vegetarian options are included (Please indicate on registration form along with any other dietary restrictions.)

Whilst in our home-base-hub of Urubamba, healthy family-style breakfasts and lunches are provided at the Proyecto Ecologico Rijch’ariy along with snacks and refreshments throughout the day while on the land.

  • Although not all the ingredients are from the farm, we source as much as we can from what we’re producing.

  • In order to encourage a hive mentality working together as a unit, we also take part in "chacra chores" ("farm chores") which includes assigning shared breakfast prep and meal clean-up crews.

During excursions to Chinchero, Tierra de los Yachaqs, fully catered menu-style lunches and a box lunch are offered.

Dinners are not included and participants are encouraged to explore the many affordable dining options in Urubamba village or prepare dinner in the communal kitchen at our home base, Proyecto Ecologico Rijch’ariy from the bountiful products available on the farm and in the farmers market in town.
